One grand down...
After about two months of drunken "we should go to Asia" chats, hours on the phone with travel agents, painful vaccinations and a scary travel video, we finally bought our tickets to Bangkok today. We will both be leaving from LAX on Wednesday June 15th and travelling through Osaka to Bangkok. Ed comes back to the states on August 7th and my ticket is set (for now at least) for October 14th.
What we are doing in between those days is anyones guess. We're thinking Thailand and Cambodia first then escaping the monsoon and heading to Bali and Java. Maybe a touch of the Komodo Islands (think dragons), Vietnam (think landmines) or Nepal (think mountains). Any suggestions?
